Happy Young Leader?!?!
So what have the Young Leader Advisers been up to over the last few
months?
Well, hopefully some of you will have been aware that we have been
promoting the new Young Leader Qualification and the use of the Senior
Section CD.
Starting something new can be quite daunting so we‘ve produced an ‗Easy
Steps‘ Young Leader Qualification leaflet and separate
simple records sheets. These can be downloaded from the new Young Leader
pages of the County website why not log on and have a look!!!
We‘ve also clocked up a few miles travelling to the North, Central and
South of the County to run training sessions on the YL Qualification,
eating plenty of sweets and cake!
If you have any questions give your Division YL Adviser or us a shout. In
the meantime we look forward to seeing lots of YL Qualification badges
being awarded in your Division.

Young Leader Training Night
The Young Leader Training night was great because we got to meet Young
Leaders from different units, which we don‘t often get to do. We also got
to share ideas, learn new things and have fun with games that could help
us back at our units.
An idea that I gained and will use is to try and have a starter and ending
activity every session. I also learnt that your leaders and helpers can
all do most of the jobs, so they need to be shared out fairly. Plus a
Rainbow, Brownie or Guide night needs a lot of planning, preparation and
organisation, which Young Leaders can often help with.
Finally, Fiona and Jo were really welcoming and helpful and the drinks and
cakes were a fantastic idea! I thought the session was very useful and
more would be appreciated.
