Moorside District Thinking Day

On Saturday 21st February, Moorside District, Leek Division held a Thinking Day Event organised by Chris Swann and Rosemary Mountford. The activities were all linked to the Changing the World project of Homelessness and each girl was asked to bring a new pair of socks to donate to the charity Crisis. Activities included, The Numbers Game, Snakes & Ladders, Fashion Parade, Fab Feet (see photo) and Footy Skills.

Rainbows and Brownies also did What does a Homeless Person Look Like?, Smelly Socks, Sock Puppets and Nail Art. Afterwards they watched a short sock puppet play featuring Barry the Busker, Bill the Bobby, Mike the Magazine Seller (Big Issue) and Trevor the Tramp written and presented by Rosemary and puppets made by Rosemary and Chris.

During the morning everyone also enjoyed a breakfast of cereals, toast and jam and fruit juice.

At the close of the event there was a sing-a-long and renewal of Promises and prayers to say Thank You for our homes.

Any proceeds from the event will be donated to CRISIS (along with the socks) - and all the girls will receive a Changing the World Badge.
