BP CHALLENGE LIVERPOOL WEEKEND

Saturday morning we all arrived bright and early some of us felt rough and others stated 'I feel fine'. The prospect of changing trains at Crewe with a 12 minute turn around had concerned a few of us. The kind guard however said, 'with a little help from my friends, we can work it out'. We changed at Crewe and went via Chester!

As we left the station waving bye bye love, all on the platform must have thought 'she loves you!' we were off on our 'magical mystery tour.' We all began to 'imagine', what we will do first; walk down 'Penny lane' or sit in 'strawberry fields forever. The Anglican cathedral was immense and whilst climbing the tower, Diane sang 'Help, I need somebody!' At the top she added 'I want to hold your hand'. Unfortunately the 'Ferry across the Mersey' didn't happen due to rough weather so the BP Guides then entered the Tate and did not want to leave! 'Something' about the ambience within the gallery just captured us all. Discussions took place over pieces of art, guides even became sculptures themselves. Following the Tate we had a wet windy walk back to the hostel. After sorting our beds at the YHA, it was time to go out for a Chinese buffet yum yum. Goodnight girls 'please please me' and go to sleep, and they did!!!!!!!!

After a cooked breakfast all around, we wondered if the day could turn out as good as 'yesterday'? It was then time to enter the land of the Beatles. We discovered how the Beatles began and ended their wonderful adventure. We experienced the cavern and met 'sergeant peppers lonely hearts club' and 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds.' on our way to the world museum we called in on Matthew Street; home of the Beatles, a pose with 'Eleanor Rigby' we could not resist. The world museum had some wonderful exhibits, sport, culture, space and natural history. All sorts of facts could be discovered, a 'day in the life' of a beetle, yes I do mean the insect; they can end up as headdress!
