4TH UTTOXETER BROWNIES PICK UP LITTER TO HELP THEIR COMMUNITYMembers of the 4th Uttoxeter Brownies carried out a Litter Pick in conjunction with the East Staffordshire Borough Council this week as part of their commitment to help their local community. Following a Safety talk from the Park Ranger, the girls picked up rubbish found on Bramshall Road Park equipped with gloves, bags and collection instruments provided by the Borough Council.
As you know, Girlguiding UK encourages our members to contribute to and help their local community and the 4th Uttoxeter Brownie’s Lead Guider Sandra Butterworth contacted the Council to see whether the girls could help keep their community free of litter. The Council were really pleased that the Brownies had been in touch and were more than happy to help them with their task. Sandra Butterworth said “We encourage the girls to do a good deed every day and they certainly did that today. I wanted to pick up the litter along the A50 but that wasn’t really appropriate for the girls so we chose the park as it was somewhere they themselves would benefit from. “
