Walking News

Hi to everyone who is interested in Walking! My name is Kate Murrell and I am the new Walking Advisor for Staffordshire.

  • Would you like to be included in my mail shots?

  •  Would you be a good person for me to link with in your Division about walking events?

  • Are you just a Guider interested in getting her girls, or yourself out walking?

If so, send your e-mail to kate_murrell22@yahoo.com and I’ll send you the Walking Staffordshire Newsletter every 3 months.

Request

Do you know any good walks in your Division? I am looking at making a resource where each division could offer some 2km 5km and 10km walks in any of the ground types. If you know of anything suitable then please fill in the form and post or email it to me so we can begin to build some resources. If we get enough walks then maybe I can organise a County Walking Challenge?

Get Trained

Would you like to take girls out into Open and Remote ground? Are you a keen walker yourself and looking to improve your skills or get your skill recognised? Then the new walking training scheme could be for you, there are two courses that may interest you………..

Get out there!

Try to get your Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Adult Leaders and Trefoil Guild members out and about! Remember to check the Walking Guideline in the Manual as Open, Remote and Extreme walking does require you to be qualified, but you don’t need a qualification for Easy or Lowland Ground if you have experience. Check out the Easy and Lowland Guidelines. We have beautiful surroundings in Staffordshire, so get out there and enjoy
