INTOPS Weekend

The next INTOPS (International Opportunities) weekend takes place from 8-10 October 2010 in London. Find out all about overseas experiences with guiding at this fun, action packed weekend for members aged 17 to 30. The weekend will also be used to select volunteers for the 2011 GOLD (Guiding Overseas Linked with Development) projects. Applications open in April and places are allocated on a first come first served basis. For an application form and further information, please email INTOPS@girlguiding.org.uk

World Scout Moot 2010

The World Scout Moot is an event for young people aged between 18 and 25 and it is being held in Kenya from 27 July - 7 August 2010 (if you are aged over 25, you can apply to join the service crew). Over 3000 participants are expected from more than 100 countries. World Scout Jamboree - International Service Team Applications:

The 22nd World Scout Jamboree will take place from 27 July - 7 August 2011 in Sweden with around 30,000 Scouts and Guides expected to attend from around the world. The International Service Team (IST) works in international teams to do everything on-site, from delivering programme, to serving in shops, to washing up and emptying bins.

Any adult member of Girlguiding UK can apply to be part of the IST, as long as they will be 18 or over on the first day of the camp. There are 500 places available for UK IST. To apply for one of these you should register online from Monday 19th October 2009 at www.scouts.org.uk/wsj2011. From this date, places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, to attend a series of selection events in January and February 2010. Places will only be offered after these events.
