Unity International Camp

Unity 2010, a international camp in Staffordshire, was held at Shugborough and women and girls from Japan, Antigua, Kenya, New Jersey and Staffordshire camped for a week.
When my unit guider asked me if I wanted to go to Unity, I didn’t hesitate in answering. I really enjoyed unity. The activities I took part in were so fun and I loved getting involved in them. I especially liked the craft tent, I made many crafts which made my week very memorable. Like a mirror, to hang up which we personalised. This came in so handy with only a couple of mirrors in the toilets! I took part in the traditional dancing and laughed for hours after watching my friends. On the last day, I did canoeing, my favourite activity. Whilst canoeing we travelled down the River Trent and other waterways.
At Unity, I made many new friends, and renewed friendships I already had. In the camp I stayed in, Kenyans stayed with us, which meant I made many friendships with the girls from Kenya. The girls joined in the activities with us, which meant that some of us got quite close.
I thoroughly loved my Unity experience, and hope to attend the next Unity and help on the service team, who did a great job in 2010.
