Saturday 19th March 2011
HOSTED AT LEEK CRICKET CLUB BY LEEK & BIDDULPH GUILDS
Guild members from across the County attended the AGM.
We were warmly greeted by our two host Guilds and treated to a delicious lunch.
Local dignitaries - Councillor Peter Warrilow & Mrs Warrilow attended along with Girlguiding Staffordshire County Commissioner, Pauline McKie, Assistant County Commissioner, Maureen Recine and County Treasurer, Cathy Fettes.
Christine Stott delivered her final report as our County Chair as her term of office will come to an end later this year.
She spoke about what a fantastic 12 months we have all had and was pleased that the Trefoil Guilds had played their part so well in all the celebrations.

She announced that the award for the highest increase in the membership of a local Guild had been won by Eccleshall Guild.
Christine was also very pleased to present the “Trefoil Brooch” to Jean Bode from Leek Guild.
The speaker at our meeting was Penny Dean and her talk was entitled : “ Small in a Tall Person’s World”.
She spoke passionately about her life as a “lady dwarf” and about the obstacles she has overcome.
She married a dwarf and despite many setbacks they have raised a family of who they are quite rightly proud. She was inspirational.
The meeting ended with the singing of Daylight Taps and Go Well and Safely.
We bade our farewells and returned to our various parts of Staffordshire having had yet another successful AGM in the company of friends.
