Thinking Day

22nd February is Thinking Day. On this day each year, members of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) remember the founders of the movement and take part in various activities to think about their sisters throughout the world. February 22 was chosen as it was the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout and Guide movements, and his wife Olave, who was the first World Chief Guide.

Donations are collected for the Thinking Day Fund which is run by WAGGGS and which supports projects to help Guides around the world.

Others get involved with Thinking Day on the Air (TDOTA). TDOTA is an opportunity for the members of Girlguiding UK to talk to other members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world via amateur radio. For further information please click here.
