Kingsley Holt Brownies

Girls from Kingsley Holt Brownies took part in a thought-provoking sleepover.
Inspiration for the fund-raiser came from one of the group's young members, who felt showing their support for homeless charity CRISIS would be a worthy thing to do.
So, 24 members of the unit stayed over at Cheadle Methodist Church Hall for their sponsored sleepover.
Unit Guider Joanne Hopkinson provided an array of challenges and activities for the girls to take part in throughout the evening, each depicting a different aspect of life without a home.
Every challenge resulted in the girls winning an extra luxury item to make their 'homeless sleepover' more comfortable, such as extra blankets and food.
For the event, the girls each brought along a cardboard box to sleep in.
One of the challenges was to decorate their box with drawings depicting the different areas that a homeless person may choose to sleep - such as a churchyard or bench.
They were also asked to make an outfit using newspaper and were challenged to climb into their sleeping bags and get them zipped up within 30 seconds to earn treats.
At around 9pm, the group set up a replica soup kitchen and all the girls enjoyed a mug of soup and a bread roll.
The following morning, the girls designed a Big Issue front cover, packed their belongings and walked around the hall to earn their breakfast.
All the girls were given a sleepover badge and Brownie blanket to celebrate raising £424.20 for CRISIS.
